Industrial zones (IZs) are specialized areas designed to bolster the national economy’s global competitiveness, facilitate technology transfer, increase production and employment, attract
international capital, and provide a conducive environment for large-scale investments. These zones, numbering 40 across various regions, offer several advantages:

  • Access to easement rights.
  • Eligibility for public investment funding from the Ministry of Industry and Technology (MoIT) budget.
  • MoIT or operator company acting as the authoritative body for applications.
  • Streamlined bureaucratic processes for investors.
  • Promotion of an environment conducive to advanced technology investment.
  • Granting of easement rights at significantly discounted rates, often 8-10 times lower than those offered for
  • Treasury lands outside the IZ.
  • Possibility of additional incentives approved by the President.

4. Access to Skilled Labor: Industrial zones are often located in areas with a large pool of skilled labor, making it easier for businesses to find the talent they need. Additionally, some zones may offer training programs to develop the skills required by the industries operating within the zone.

5. Reduced Regulatory Burden: Industrial zones may have streamlined regulatory processes and reduced bureaucratic procedures, making it easier for businesses to obtain permits and licenses. This can save time and money, allowing businesses to focus on their core operations.

6. Collaboration and Networking Opportunities: Industrial zones can foster collaboration and networking opportunities among businesses operating within the zone. This can lead to knowledge sharing, joint ventures, and innovation.

7. Environmental Sustainability: Some industrial zones are designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating features such as renewable energy sources, waste reduction programs, and green building practices.
